Bob Gambitta is a New York State public school teacher and a lifelong student of the martial arts. He is one of the few people in the world who has earned the rank of Full Instructor in Jun Fan Gung Fu, Jeet Kune Do, and Filipino Martial Arts under Sifu/Guro Dan Inosanto. He has also earned the rank of Senior Instructor (Ajarn) in Muay Thai under Ajarn Chai Sirisute, who is the founder and president of the World Thai Boxing Association (formerly the Thai Boxing Association of the USA). Bob has boxed competitively for more than a decade with USA Boxing, winning multiple championships in the New York State Golden Gloves and a gold medal at the Empire State Games. He is the former coach of Cornell University’s Boxing Club and a trainer of fighters today. Bob is a Red Glove, 2nd degree, under Professor Salem Assli, who is the highest ranking instructor of Savate in America and the President of the California Association of Boxe Francaise Savate.
For seven years Bob Gambitta has been the strength and conditioning coach, as well as the speed, agility, and quickness trainer for his school district’s varsity girls lacrosse team. For two of those seven years he also served in the same roles for the varsity boys lacrosse team. In addition to privately training many high school and collegiate scholarship athletes from lacrosse, soccer, hockey, baseball and basketball, Bob has also been brought in to train the goalies for Cornell University’s field hockey team. Using traditional and nontraditional training methodologies, Bob has helped develop local, state, national and international champion athletes. He has also trained members of the sheriff’s department as well as city and state police officers. He continues to teach and train in numerous martial arts today.
